The Advanced Practice Reproductive Psychiatry Institute (APRPI) provides structured, clinically rigorous training in reproductive psychiatry for advanced practice clinicians. Our programs bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world clinical practice through case-based education, practical frameworks, and implementation-focused learning across the reproductive lifespan.
APRPI focuses on how reproductive psychiatry is practiced in real-world clinical settings. Our education is designed with advanced practice clinicians at the center, emphasizing clinical decision-making, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and practical application across the reproductive lifespan. We bridge the gap between evidence and practice through clinically rigorous, case-based education designed for the clinicians providing this care.
Reproductive psychiatry is a subspecialty focused on the interaction between reproductive transitions, hormones, and mental health across the lifespan—including menstruation, PMDD, infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, lactation, and menopause.
APRPI is designed primarily for advanced practice clinicians, including psychiatric-mental health, family, and women’s health nurse practitioners; certified nurse-midwives; clinical nurse specialists; and physician associates. Our programs are also open to physicians, psychologists, therapists, educators, and other healthcare professionals interested in reproductive psychiatry and mental health across the reproductive lifespan.

APRPI offers live virtual education, including Foundations of Reproductive Psychiatry, Specialty Courses, Clinical Conversations, and the quarterly APRPI Book Club. We believe some of the best learning happens in conversation, so our programs are designed to be interactive, engaging, and intentionally small.
Recording availability varies by program and will be clearly indicated on the program page and during registration.
Specialty Courses are typically 2–3 hours, while Foundations of Reproductive Psychiatry is a focused six-hour program. Clinical Conversations are brief, approximately 45-50 minutes. Future certificate and advanced training programs may include multiple sessions or longer learning experiences.
If you’re new to reproductive psychiatry or want a comprehensive clinical framework, Foundations of Reproductive Psychiatry is the best place to begin. If you’re looking to deepen your knowledge in a specific area, explore our Specialty Courses. For brief, accessible learning and connection with other clinicians, join a Clinical Conversation or the APRPI Book Club.

APRPI offers 1:1 consulting for advanced practice clinicians seeking support with complex reproductive psychiatry cases, clinical decision-making, psychopharmacology, and the development of their reproductive psychiatry practice. Consultation is educational and collaborative and does not replace the treating clinician’s independent professional judgment.
Consultation may address reproductive psychiatry questions across the lifespan, including PMDD and hormonal mood disorders, infertility and IVF, pregnancy and lactation, pregnancy loss and TFMR, perinatal psychiatric conditions, ADHD in women, perimenopause and menopause, and complex psychopharmacology. Cases should be appropriately de-identified.
